OUR TRIP TO DISNEY WORLD | Patrycja's Journey
10th Aug 2015

We just got back from Patrycja’s wish trip sponsored entirely by the Make-A-Wish foundation. We spent seven amazing days in Orlando, Florida, and it was definitely our best family vacation ever! We left on Saturday, August 1st and got a limousine ride to the airport. We stayed at Give Kids the World, a charming storybook resort for children with life-threatining illnesses where everything is kid-friendly: unlimited carousel rides, an ice-cream parlor that serves ice cream for breakfast (and all throughout the day), a movie theater where movies are screened all day long, spray parks, swimming pools, a child-operated train and much more. All the attractions at the resort are completely free and unlimited. The 1,500 + volunteers who work there make sure that each child (and family) feels special. We had our own villa with a jacuzzi, and the jacuzzi, of course, was only in the kids’ bathroom :).

Each day was filled with fun and amazing food! We visited three Disney Parks (Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios) as well as Universal Studios and Sea World. Although it was the busiest season at Disney World, we didn’t mind because Make-A-Wish had provided us with a special “fast pass,” so we didn’t have to stand in lines and got to see and experience a lot more attractions than the average visitor.

What’s more, we had the perfect weather. It rained the first day, and we prayed that God would hold the rain for us so that we could fully enjoy the parks. Amazingly, for the next five days, despite the foreboding weather forecasts, it only rained at night, early in the morning, and while we were driving from one place to another. As soon as we passed the park gates, the rain would stop! We all felt like royalty. In fact, we felt so pampered during our trip that it’s been hard to adjust back to our “normal” lifestyle. No more chauffeurs, no more limos, and no “fast passes” at the supermarket :).

Thank you Make-A-Wish and thank you Give Kids the World for this awesome experience!
